RapidCompact 3.1 Release

We are happy to announce the release of RapidCompact 3.1! Not long after the Release of Version 3.0 we decided to merge all updates, fixes and new features in one big new update coming with new features :

  • Tiling Textures & Atlas Preservation
  • “Pixels per Unit Length”: Optimizing Textures According to Their 3D Size
  • Atlasing Modes
  • With these new features, it is easily possible to optimize meshes using tiled textures without any notable loss in visual quality. Also, thanks to the introduction of Atlasing Modes, it is now possible to configure the way how, and how many, output atlases are created (single atlas, separated by alpha, separated by material, and more). And with the “pixels per unit length” setting, it is possible to scale the different texture atlases according to their occupied surface area in 3D, fully-automatically!

  • Tiled Textures
  • Of course we also worked on several other notable improvements. More detailed informations about the updates can be found in our changelog, which you can find, as always, in the downloads area.
