Model of the Week – Traditional Shelving System

12.02.2020 by DGG

In this gallery blog we present the most recent models optimized with RapidCompact.

The original Model by TurboSquid / Tornado Studio had ~50MB in original OBJ format with PNG maps.

For a compact, fast-loading Web version, RapidCompact was used to produce a model of only 2.67 MB in glTF format. The iOS AR version in USDZ has only 2.8MB as well. Transparencies of the window parts were preserved in a separate material, while opaque parts were merged separately, leading to the minimum possible number of two draw calls for efficient rendering.
